This Way Home

Erik looked at Liza sitting across from him. In the clear light of day, she looked lovelier than ever. He slipped on dark glasses, afraid that his open admiration would show and most likely scare her. He didn’t want her to think he’d lured her here under false pretenses.

"So tell me about these dreams of yours," he said as they waited.

"I had another one last night. I’m thrown back in time to the days of slavery. I’m toiling out doors. An overseer shouts orders....you’re in these dreams, except you’re not out in the field. You’re standing at the door of a house looking out at me."

Erik couldn’t be more shocked. Liza’s dreams mirrored his own. In some bizarre way they were connected.
