Now that I’ve gotten that shameless promotion out of the way, what are your plans this summer? The days seem to be racing by. Last month was the annual Romance Writers Conference in New York. As usual it was fun, and very informative. It’s always an opportunity to see old friends, and make new ones. I can’t think of a better place to catch up on industry gossip, and hear who’s buying books and who’s not.

As you know, this book business has changed, greatly. Anyone wanting to stay in the game, has to keep their eyes open, and ears tuned. More importantly, maintaining a sense of humor and a certain joie de vivre, is key.

Joy of Living
Speaking of joie de vivre, I am heading to Southampton, England, next month, and cruising to ports in Belgium, Holland, Germany and France. This trip is meant to replenish the creative spirit, and of course I will have my trusty, laptop at hand. You never know when the muse will strike.
